Steve Taylor: Writer & Researcher

My late father, William (Bill), the very image of the Cold War era electronics engineer. Excellent eyewear!

I have a number of commissions and personal writing projects in progress, which will be added to the relevant section as they emerge.

I’m writing a profile of Corita, the Catholic nun who became a celebrated pop artist after seeing Andy Warhol’s Soup Cans at LA’s Ferus Gallery in 1962.

I’m researching a forthcoming piece in the John Rylands Library archive of dsh - Dom Sylvester Houédard - the Benedictine monk, theologian, leading concrete poet and denizen of 1960s London counterculture.

There’s a paper on two Manchester buildings that embody the past and future of independent music in the city, for a July 2022 conference in Porto.

And ongoing research into my father’s involvement in the postwar commercialisation of wartime innovations in computing and electronics.
