Steve Taylor: Writer & Researcher

View of the experimental collaborative workspace designed and made for a global advertising agency.

For the past two years I’ve been contributing ethnographic research, strategy and content to a future-oriented workplace design studio, resulting in experimental installations for clients that model the post-pandemic office; adaptable, collaborative and hospitable.

By undertaking pre- and post-occupancy research with a succession of teams using these experimental spaces, I’ve helped to create a genuinely user-centric design process.

I’ve also researched and written a series of thought-pieces for the studio’s web site, and marketing communications, positioning them at the leading edge of workplace innovation.

For a Dublin-based architectural visualisation/CGI studio, I took a lecture that one of the founders had written and delivered, edited it, wrote additional content and restructured the whole as pdf ‘brochure’ for clients.

The document takes a deep dive into the photographic principles - lighting, perspective, context and so forth - that inform the making of aesthetically pleasing and impactful virtual images of buildings and landscapes.
